There was once a little girl who wanted to go back in time and change the past.
Maybe then, she thought, she would have received more hugs.
So she became a physicist.

But eventually, she realized—
if she did go back,
maybe her stuffed animals
and hermit crabs
would never have found
someone who loved them
as much as she did.

So she stayed.
She became the witness
to emotions that other people
never learned how to process.
She studied the patterns beneath the pain—
the rules people stated,
the rules people used.
She followed the rules.
She noticed when the rules
were not the ones being used.

And when the systems
were not designed to hold her, she built another.
A system for the moments
people feel deeply,
but do not know
how to name.
A system to tell you this:

I hear you. I am here for you.
And along with it, Teddy Bears too—small companions, soft on the outside and inside to receive you—
